What the program does:

This program can be used to keep phone numbers and addresses of friends. By double clicking you can dial the number using your modem or speakers. The data can be printed so you can carry it with you. Think of it as a poor man's PDA.

How to use it:

Enter new contacts with the New button. Phone numbers can be entered into the Phone number or Misc. Info. fields. If you want the program to dial, the numbers must be in one of the following forms:

819-567-1234
(819) 567-1234
819.567.1234 - work
cell 819-567-1234
1-819-567-1234
1-800-"CALL-ATT"    letters in quotes get turned into numbers.
*82,819-567-1234    *82 = turn off caller ID blocking, the comma will create a 2 second pause.
*82//819-567-1234    / = 125 millisecond pause, use more if needed.
567-2342; ext 607    everything after a semicolon is ignored so the extension won't be dialed.

You can enter all numbers with the area code since WinDial will not dial your area code unless you check 10 digit dialing in the program setup. You can always see the digits that will be dialed by clicking on the item and looking on the status line below.

To dial the phone number you can double click an item.
To dial the number in Misc Info. you can right click it and select Dial Misc.

If you select "Using speakers" in Setup you can hold the handset of your phone up to the computers's speaker and then double click the number and the the number wil be dialed.
